Elle est compl\u00e8te, bien document\u00e9e et enrichissante autant au niveau personnel que professionnel. Des vid\u00e9os, t\u00e9moignages, discussions, jeux de r\u00f4les et mises en situation aident \u00e0 bien int\u00e9grer le contenu. Ma s\u0153ur, qui \u00e9tait la principale aidante, n\u2019avait pratiquement pas de temps pour elle-m\u00eame avant qu\u2019Albatros n\u2019intervienne pour nous aider. J\u2019ai rencontr\u00e9 Manon, d\u2019Albatros, lors d\u2019un rassemblement communautaire pour les organismes \u00e0 but non lucratif \u00e0 Gatineau. En apprenant notre situation difficile avec notre m\u00e8re et le manque d\u2019aide disponible de la part des organismes gouvernementaux, Manon a imm\u00e9diatement propos\u00e9 de trouver une de leurs b\u00e9n\u00e9voles pour nous offrir un r\u00e9pit de quatre heures par semaine, m\u00eame si notre m\u00e8re n\u2019\u00e9tait pas techniquement en fin de vie et avait besoin d\u2019un peu plus d\u2019aide que simplement de quelqu\u2019un pour lui tenir compagnie. La b\u00e9n\u00e9vole a commenc\u00e9 d\u00e8s la semaine suivante. <br><br>Ce r\u00e9pit a permis \u00e0 ma s\u0153ur d\u2019aller \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9glise le dimanche matin, ce qu\u2019elle n\u2019avait pas pu faire depuis de nombreux mois. Notre m\u00e8re se sentait tr\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019aise avec chacune des dames qui venaient lui tenir compagnie et celles-ci respectaient nos souhaits concernant ses soins. Elles \u00e9taient compatissantes et sympathiques. Albatros a m\u00eame pris de nos nouvelles apr\u00e8s que notre m\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 hospitalis\u00e9e et est finalement d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e. Nous n\u2019\u00e9tions pas simplement un num\u00e9ro pour eux.<br><br>Ivy \/ Velda, filles de Mme Edna<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background\">Albatros was a life-saver for my sister and I in 2024 when we were caring for our 93-year-old mother who had advanced Alzheimer\u2019s disease. My sister, being the primary care-giver, had very little time away before Albatros stepped in to help. I met Manon, from Albatros, during a community gathering for non-profit organisations in Gatineau. Upon hearing of our difficult situation with our mother and the lack of help available from government agencies, Manon immediately offered to find one of their volunteers to provide us with respite four hours a week, in spite of the fact that our mother was not technically at end-of-life stage and required a bit more help than just sitting with her. The volunteer started the very next week. <br><br>This respite allowed my sister to attend church on Sunday mornings, something that she had been unable to do for many months. Our mother was very comfortable with each of the ladies who came to sit with her and they followed our wishes for her care. They were compassionate and personable. They even followed up with us even after our mother was admitted to hospital and eventually passed away. Ce soutien a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s appr\u00e9ci\u00e9, compte tenu du manque de services offerts aux patients\/a\u00een\u00e9es et aux proches aidants par les organismes gouvernementaux.<\/em><br><br><em>Pendant 4 heures, la b\u00e9n\u00e9vole vient chez nous et s\u2019occupe de ma m\u00e8re. \u00a0Elle se distingue par sa patience, sa gentillesse et son respect de la dignit\u00e9 de la personne accompagn\u00e9e. Sa pr\u00e9sence a \u00e9t\u00e9 une v\u00e9ritable source de r\u00e9confort et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour moi, me permettant de m\u2019occuper d&rsquo;autres t\u00e2ches ou simplement me reposer quelques heures. Elle sait accompagner ma m\u00e8re, \u00e9veiller sa cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 et son esprit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des jeux de soci\u00e9t\u00e9, tout en encourageant des \u00e9changes sur sa propre personne, sa vie et bien d\u2019autres sujets.<\/em> <br><br><em>Les services offerts et l\u2019engagement des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles au sein d\u2019Albatros sont essentiels \u00e0 notre communaut\u00e9.
